Our Old Trading Post version of the 1898 Bad Bob Meldrum Style Ranger Gun Belt and Single Loop Half Breed Design Holster(s) set is a very no non sense and all business Western Gun Belt and Holster Set. We make the Ranger Design Gun Belt and Single Loop Holster(s) from Heavyweight Premium Grade Leather as most Old West Gun Leather was made from during the late 19th Century.

The Ranger Design Gun Belt is 2 3/4 inches wide with a 1 1/2 inch billet strap which is secured with a 1 1/2 inch Stainless Steel Clipped Point Belt Buckle. The Ranger Style Gun Belt was probably the favorite Gun Belt of most Range Cowboys and Range Lawman offering the wearer a much wider belt to carry large amounts of varied Ammunition as well as to carry multiple firearms while the ranger gun belt design offered overlapping leather for mid section protection from the belt and buckle cutting the wearer.

We offer our Old Trading Post version of the Bad Bob Meldrum Gun Belt and Holster Set with approximately 24 Center Back Ammunition Loops for larger Caliber Cartridges although you can loop the belt in your choice of NO LOOPS, .22 Caliber, .32 Caliber, .357 / .38 Caliber, .41 Caliber, .44 / .45 Caliber.

The Single Loop Half Breed Design Holster is about as simple of a Fast Draw Holster Design as there is and because of that simplicity the Half Breed Design was a favorite among many of the Range Cowboys and Lawman. Our Old Trading Post Single Loop Half Breed Design Holster is made from Premium Grade Skirting Leather and is available in a Cross Draw version and a Side Draw version for the Right Hand or Left Hand Shooter.

ABOUT: Bob Meldrum Born 1865 - (Disappeared) 1926 (Unsolved)

Bob Meldrum is one of those colorful yet dark characters that bridged the period of the 19th Century Old Wild West and the early portion of the 20th Century. Bob Meldrum was a man of exceptional talent with a firearm and standing 5 foot 6 inches tall and because of his smaller stature he lived by the saying that (God made all men, but Samuel Colt made all men equal) although Bob Meldrum with a Colt made him stand taller than most men. Bob Meldrum was so fast with his gun, that once he took on 4 Men in the streets of Baggs, Wyoming when he was that town's Marshall.

Bob Meldrum was a Pinkerton Agent, Union Strikebreaker, Range Detective, Marshall, Deputy Sheriff, Saddle Maker and a Hired or unsolicited Killer. The Count of the men Bob Meldrum Killed is lost to time although some say as many as 50 to 100 men many in the line of duty and some not. Bob Meldrum was known as BAD BOB MELDRUM he was also known as HAIR TRIGGER BOB and he was lastly known as MAN KILLER MELDRUM to his sometimes friend and other times adversary Pinkerton Agent Charles Siringo.

If you would like some true Old West reading look up Bob Meldrum and there is plenty of fun reading on the internet and in the library. They say that Bob Meldrum had a very friendly disposition with contemporaries and a very hard and cold disposition with those who crossed him he would draw a gun at the slightest of provocations. Bob Meldrum opened a saddlery in Walcott, Wyoming in 1926, the saddlery burned down and Meldrum disappeared his fate unlearned.

In 2004, the Star-Tribune reported that a skeleton was found north of Rawlins, Wyoming. The skeleton had a bullet hole in the skull and a healed broken hip. Hopes that the disappearance of Bad Bob Meldrum had finally been solved, however, were soon dashed. The skeleton was three inches shorter than the reported height for Bad Bob. The mystery of the fate of Bob Meldrum remains a question to this day.
