This Western Old West Style #3 Black Powder Belt is made of heavy, single thickness Premium Grade Leather and designed to carry the accessories necessary for Black Powder Shooting.  Our 1859 Main and Winchester Design Extra Thick Black Powder Belt is available your choice of either a 2 1/4 inch belt width or a 2 1/2 inch belt width as standard options and a 3-inch belt width is available as an add on option.

These 1859 Main and Winchester Design Extra Thick Black Powder Belts come in the Ranger Style with a 1 1/2 inch billet strap and come standard with a Stainless Steel 1 1/2" Clipped Corner Belt Buckle.  These #3 Black Powder Belts are available in Black, Brown or Russet Leather color with several choices of Hand Carved Western Floral Carving Designs or 5 Different Stamping Patterns.

Main & Winchester Saddlery  (1850 - 1905)  Charles Main and Ezra Winchester

The Main and Winchester Saddlery is one of the Most widely remembered Saddleries of all of the Old West Saddleries for a variety of reasons.  As well as Master Saddle Makers and Designers they created Gun Leather which to this day is still popular in design.  The Main and Winchester Saddlery grew in California right in the heart of the California Gold Rush era and became the largest west coast saddlery through the turn of the 20th Century.  Charles Main became so active in local and civic politics and issues including building sewage lines, laying out the city and streets in city planning and ultimately being involved in the developing of the street car system that as a tribute Main Street in San Francisco is named after Charles Main.

The story or history of the Main & Winchester Saddlery of San Francisco, California actually begins on the other coast where Charley Main was born in 1817 in Rochester, New Hampshire and in 1826 Ezra Hitchings Winchester was born in Fall River, Bristol Massachusetts. It is actually the background of these two adventurous men which made them capable of maintaining a business and home on both coasts throughout their lives at a time when travel was far more difficult in its own ways at that time.  The Main & Winchester Saddlery was the Largest Saddlery & Harness Business on the West Coast in the United States in 1881 Employing over 200 Men in various duties
throughout the company.
